Kuilsrivier Golf Club sits on the edge of the Cape Winelands just east of Cape Town and has become a popular parkland course for locals and visitors alike. The club was officially formed in October 1982 and offers a full 18 hole layout with a par of 72. Gentle rises and falls in the terrain combine with mature trees and pockets of water to create an engaging round that rewards accuracy as much as length.
Although not the longest track in the region the course presents a thoughtful test of golf. From the club tees the course measures around 5 363 metres while the championship tees extend to roughly 5 767 metres. Fairways are often tree lined and several greens sit at different elevations so course management and careful club selection are important, especially when the Cape wind is up. The layout is known for its neat bunkers and well tended greens which make for a true parkland experience rather than a links style round.
Off the course the club offers a welcoming clubhouse with a bar and restaurant where players can relax after their round. There is a pro shop and solid practice facilities including a driving range and putting area and the club is set up to host corporate days and private functions with conference rooms and catering available. Visitors are generally welcome and the club promotes lessons and group bookings through its professional staff.
